Mandala is a Sanskrit word loosely translated to mean "circle", far more encompassing than that, it represents wholeness. Awareness of the mandala may have the potential of changing how we see ourselves, our planet, and perhaps even our own life purpose.
This is my contemporary spin on the Native American headdresses that started me down this beaded road I travel. I have used them to work out themes and issues of my life, layering them in my personal symbolism and meaning. All are wearable.
A category for all 3D work that can not be labeled a headdress. So far this includes the Dr Seuss house, which has doors that actually function and walls made from beaded book covers. And beaded journals that have a beaded page for each of the twelve months.
Anything that hangs on a wall and does not fit into the category of mandala is here in this gallery. Once in awhile I feel like doing something without the confines of circles and squares. It does not thappen often but I wanted to make sure of a place for them.
